NGC 786 (also IRAS 01587+1524, MCG 2-6-12, UGC 1506 and PGC 7680) is a magnitude +13.4 face-on spiral galaxy located 208 million light-years away in the constellation Aries.

The galaxy was discovered by German-Danish astronomer Heinrich Louis d'Arrest using a 27.94 cm (11 inch) f/17.5 Merz-Refractor at the Copenhagen Observatory on the 26th September 1865.

Right Ascension 02h 01m 24.6s, Declination +15° 38' 46"
