NGC 9 (also IRAS 00063+2332, MCG 4-1-30, UGC 78 and PGC 652) is a magnitude +14.35 spiral galaxy located 142 ±31 million light-years away in the constellation Pegasus.
The galaxy was discovered by Russian-German astronomer Otto Wilhelm von Struve using a 38.1 cm (15 inch) refractor at the Pulkovo Observatory, near St Petersburg on the 27th September 1865.
