NGC 245 (also IRAS 00435-0159, MCG 0-3-5, UGC 476 and PGC 2691) is a magnitude +12.3 spiral galaxy located 188 million light-years away in the constellation Cetus.
The galaxy was discovered by German-British astronomer William Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at Clayhall Farm House in Old Windsor on the 1st October 1785.
