NGC 7657 (also ESO 148-12 and PGC 71456) is a magnitude +14.1 barred spiral galaxy located 146 million light-years away in the constellation Tucana.
The galaxy was discovered by British astronomer John Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 Inch) reflecting telescope at Feldhausen in Wynberg, Cape Town on the 2nd October 1836.
