NGC 7398 (also MCG 0-58-9, UGC 12225 and PGC 69905) is a magnitude +13.6 spiral galaxy located 217 million light-years away in the constellation Pisces.
The galaxy was discovered by Irish astronomer R. J. Mitchell, assistant to William Parsons, 3rd Earl of Rosse, using a 182.88 cm (72 inch) speculum reflector at Birr Castle on the 2nd October 1856.
