NGC 1141 (also Arp 118, NGC 1143, MCG 0-8-47, UGC 2388 and PGC 11007) is a magnitude +13.1 lenticular galaxy located 389 million light-years away in the constellation Cetus. The galaxy is interacting with the irregular galaxy NGC 1142 and catalogued as Arp 118 (bottom left in image).
NGC 1142 was discovered by German astronomer Albert Marth using a 121.92 cm (48 inch) reflector in Malta on the 5th October 1864. The galaxy was rediscovered by Edouard Stephan in November 1876 and relisted as NGC 1143.
