NGC 5283 (also MCG 11-17-7, UGC 8672 and PGC 48425) is a magnitude +13.2 spiral galaxy located 143 million light-years away in the constellation Draco.
The galaxy was discovered by German-Danish astronomer Heinrich Louis d'Arrest using a 27.94 cm (11 inch) f/17.5 refractor at the Copenhagen Observatory on the 7th October 1866.
