NGC 800 (also IRAS 01596-0021, MCG 0-6-24, UGC 1526 and PGC 7740) is a magnitude +13.1 spiral galaxy located 274 million light-years away in the constellation Cetus. The galaxy is close to the spiral galaxy NGC 799.
The galaxy was discovered by American astronomer Lewis A. Swift using a 40.6 cm (16 inch) Alvan Clark and Sons refractor at the Warner Observatory, East Avenue, Rochester, New York, on the 9th October 1885.
