NGC 761 (also MCG 5-5-36, UGC 1439 or PGC 7395) is a magnitude +13.5 spiral galaxy located 231 million light-years away in the constellation Triangulum.
The galaxy was discovered by Irish astronomer Bindon Blood Stoney, assistant to William Parsons 3rd Earl of Rosse, using the 'Parsonstown Leviathan' 182.88 cm (72 inch) reflector at Birr Castle on the 11th October 1850.
