NGC 218 (also IRAS 00438+3603, MCG 6-2-13, UGC 480 and PGC 2720) is a magnitude +12.6 spiral galaxy located 516 million light-years away in the constellation Andromeda.
The galaxy was discovered by French astronomer Edouard Stephan using a 80.01 cm (31.5 inch) reflecting telescope at the Marseille Observatory on the 17th October 1876.
