NGC 243 (also MCG 5-2-43 or PGC 2687) is a magnitude +13.7 spiral galaxy located 220 million light-years away in the constellation Andromeda.
The galaxy was discovered by French astronomer Edouard Jean-Marie Stephan using a 80.01 cm (31.5 inch) reflector at the Marseille Observatory on the 18th October, 1881.
