NGC 1264 (also MCG 7-7-50, UGC 2643 and PGC 12270) is a magnitude +14.1 barred spiral galaxy located 149 million light-years away in the constellation Perseus.
The galaxy was discovered by French astronomer Guillaume Bigourdan using a 30.48 cm (12 inch) refractor at the Paris Observatory on the 19th October 1884.
