NGC 1260 (also IRAS 03141+4113, MCG 7-7-47, UGC 2634 and PGC 12219) is a magnitude +14.3 spiral galaxy located 265 million light-years away in the constellation Perseus.

The galaxy was discovered by French astronomer Guillaume Bigourdan using a 30.48 cm (12 inch) refractor at the Paris Observatory on the 19th October 1884.

Position (J2000): R.A. 03h 17m 27.2s  |  Dec. +41° 24' 19"

In 2006, it was home to the second brightest supernova in the observable universe, supernova SN 2006gy
