NGC 5098 (also PGC 46529 and PGC 46515) are a pair of magnitude +14.1 and +14.6 elliptical galaxies located 499 and 516 million light-years away in the constellation Canes Venatici.
NGC 5098 was discovered by British astronomer John Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at Windsor Road, Slough, on the 29th April 1827.
