79-year-old James E. Collins of Rochester, father of space shuttle commander Eileen Collins, who was struck by a car in front of Kings Bar on West Washington Avenue, Elmira, US, on Monday night has died.
Jim Collins was in Elmira on Monday to hear his daughter speak at Edison and Notre Dame high schools.
Police said it appeared Collins stepped into traffic on West Washington Street shortly before 7:30 p.m.
