NGC 6043 (also MCG 3-41-86, PGC 57019 and PGC 1541265) is a pair of magnitude +14.3. and +15.2 galaxies [a barred spiral and a compact galaxy] located 455 and 427 million light-years away in the constellation Hercules.
The galaxies were discovered by American astronomer Lewis Swift using a 40.6 cm (16 inch) Alvan Clark and Sons refractor at the Warner Observatory, East Avenue, Rochester, New York, on the 27th June 1886.
