NGC 6271 (MCG 5-40-16 and PGC 59365) is a magnitude +14.1 lenticular galaxy located 484 million light-years away in the constellation Hercules.
The galaxy was discovered by German astronomer Albert Marth using a 121.92 cm (48 inch) reflector in Malta on the 28th June 1864.
