NGC 6228 (IRAS 16460+2617, MCG 4-40-1, UGC 10558 and PGC 59007) is a magnitude +14.0 spiral galaxy located 471 million light-years away in the constellation Hercules.
The galaxy was discovered by German astronomer Albert Marth using a 121.92 cm (48 inch) reflector in Malta on the 28th June 1864.
