NGC 1587 (also MCG 0-12-35, UGC 3063 and PGC 15332) is a magnitude +11.7 elliptical galaxy located 170 million light-years away in the constellation Taurus. The galaxy is Interacting with the elliptical galaxy NGC 1588, and is part of the NGCC 1587 group of Galaxies.
The galaxy was discovered by German-British astronomer William Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector from an old hunting lodge in Datchet, Berkshire, on the 19th December 1783.
