Tibetans celebrate ancient ancestors in year of the monkey

Tibetans are making last-minute preparations for the arrival of the year of the fire monkey, hoping the smart, jovial creature worshipped on the plateau as an ancient ancestor will bring good luck.
The Tibetan New Year, which begins Tuesday, is normally marked by religious rituals, long prayers, horse races, family gatherings and feasts.
