NGC 2960 (also Markarian 1419, IRAS 09380+0348, MCG 1-25-9, UGC 5159 and PGC 27619) is a magnitude +12.4 spiral galaxy located 264 ±32 million light-years away in the constellation Hydra. The galaxy has an active nucleus, and is probably a LINER type.
The galaxy was discovered by British astronomer John Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at Windsor Road, Slough, on the 4th March 1826.
