NGC 5560 (also Arp 286, MCG 1-37-1, UGC 9172 and PGC 51223) is a magnitude +12.4 warped, almost edge-on, barred spiral galaxy located 65 - 80 million light-years away in the constellation Virgo. 
The galaxy is gravitationally interacting with the neighbouring galaxies NGC 5569 and NGC 5566: the trio of galaxies are listed as Arp 286 in the Atlas of peculiar galaxies by Halton Arp.

The galaxy was discovered by German-British astronomer William Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at Windsor Road, Slough, on the 30th April 1786.
