China has successfully tested a new 120 ton-grade rocket engine with liquid oxygen/kerosene propellants for 600 seconds, at the Ballistic Missile Technology Institute, located about 48 kilometres southwest of Beijing
The new rocket engine, with a 60 percent higher efficiency than current ones, will be the hope for China's future space exploration. It will be used to carry out the second stage of China's manned-space missions, space labs and large satellites.
