Deep depression in Bay of Bengal likely to bring rains A deep depression in Bay of Bengal indicates monsoon may revive after a lull. The phenomenon is leading to a wet spell in the eastern states. Jharkhand and neighbouring areas have enjoyed good rains due to the advance of the monsoon in the north-westerly direction. Director of Central Weather Observatory Medha Khole said on Monday that the West Coast enjoyed good rains and the wet spell could continue for another 2 to 3 days.

Monsoon misery has returned to Mumbai. Many areas of the city are waterlogged, while some other areas saw traffic snarls. There was knee-deep water in King circle, Matunga Circle, Hindmata junction, Panduang Budhkar Marg, Worli Naka, Haji Ali Junction, Peddar road while some railway tracks are also submerged.
