A newly negotiated agreement will enable Canada to increase uranium exports to China.

Canadian prime minister Stephen Harper announced the successful completion of negotiations on the agreement during a visit to China that has also seen the signature of numerous joint initiatives and the renewal of existing bilaterals in energy, natural resources, education, science and technology, and agriculture.
The new protocol will supplement an existing nuclear cooperation agreement between the Chinese and Canadian governments, signed in 1994.

'Massive' uranium find in Andhra Pradesh

India's southern state of Andhra Pradesh may have one of the largest reserves of uranium in the world, the country's chief nuclear officer says.
Studies show Tummalapale in Kadapa district has a reserve of 150,000 tonnes of the mineral, Atomic Energy Commission chief S Banerjee said.
India has estimated reserves of about 175,000 tonnes of uranium

Nearly 645 kilometres north of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, on the Alberta border, lies the McArthur River uranium mine. Owned and operated by Cameco Corporation, the world's largest producer of uranium, the mine disgorged about 8.5 million kilograms of the nuclear element in 2007. The year's output was enough to supply roughly one quarter of the annual fuel needs of the 104 U.S. nuclear reactors, according to World Nuclear Association (WNA) figures.

Guinea's government says commercially viable reserves of uranium have been discovered for the first time.
Information Minister Justin Morel Junior announced that samples of uranium were extracted by a mineral company in Firawa.

Detailed interpretation of the airborne magnetic and radiometric survey recently completed over the Mutanga and Dibwe Prospects and surrounding areas of OmegaCorp Ltds 100% owned Kariba Uranium Project in Zambia has revealed nine new uranium radiometric anomalies.

According to the company, these will be ranked in order of priority and tested as part of the current drilling program in the area. Successful testing of these targets is likely to lead to an increase in the resource base of the Project.
