The Atlas 5 rocket carrying the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO) and Lunar Crater Observation and Sensing Satellite (LCROSS) has successfully launched from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida.

Thunderstorms near the launch site has delayed  the scheduled launch of the Atlas 5 rocket.
The rescheduled launch time is now at 21:32 GMT, 18th June, 2009.
