Teams of workers and technicians at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida have hooked up hoses and a tow cart to space shuttle Discovery and are moving the spacecraft to its specialized hangar. Discovery made a perfect landing at Kennedy earlier in the afternoon and will be prepared for another launch next year. The astronauts are recuperating from more than two weeks in space at the astronaut crew quarters at Kennedy and are expected to fly home to Houston on Thursday.
Space shuttle Discovery has landed in Florida after an eventful 15-day mission to the International Space Station (ISS). The crew touched down at 13:01 ET (18:01 GMT) at the Kennedy Space Center. During their time at the orbiting outpost, the shuttle's crew delivered a new unit, dropped off a new resident and completed a series of spacewalks.
