Anatahan Volcano has been putting out gas and steam plume that have moved into Saipan and Tinian, according to the Emergency Management Office yesterday. EMO said concentrations of volcanic gases should be low, but that the haze and odor may bother people with respiratory problems. In its advisory issued at 9:30am, EMO informed Saipan and Tinian residents that the U.S. Geological Survey indicates that Anatahan Volcano has been emitting gas and steam plume since the eruption.
