Asteroid or glitch? Google Sky user spots strange, undiscovered glowing rock in our solar system
A user has found a 'huge asteroid' while scanning the virtual heavens using Googly Sky. Youtube user planetkrejci, who has investigated other anomalies on NASA pictures, claims the object - found using the Google website which transports the heavens to desktop computers and smartphones - is an asteroid which is heading towards Earth. Police in District 12, Ho Chi Minh City have detained a man who cheated a woman by selling her a false meteorite for VND2 billion (US$95,000) three months ago. Vo Quang Truc, 45, of District 6, was arrested last Friday in Kien Giang Province, after his victim, Nguyen Ngoc Lan, 39, of District 12, reported the scam to police. Read more

Ed ~ Sebastian Salazar revealed his bad judgment, and lack of foresight in trying to cause panic or distress (aka to a lesser degree a hoax airport bomb). While his inexperience of filming did not fool astronomy experts, it did fool many innocent net users; it is fair to say that he should not be charged. Hopefully he has learned his lesson.

After today's day of reckoning, Harold Camping said non-believers would suffer through hell on earth until October 21, when God would pull the plug on the planet once and for all. Matteo Ianneo says he discovered the new face on Mars by examining pictures sent back to Earth from an ESA probe orbiting the Red Planet and worked into Google's map of Mars. He is unsure if the photos are optical illusions or a real sculptured face but feels the images will never-the-less cause a sensation around the world. Read more
