New excavations in western Iran have led to the discovery of an ancient stone structure that dates back to the Sassanid era (226 BC - 651 AD).
The structure was discovered in an archeologically-rich area of Iran's Kermanshah Province called Sarab Tappeh, located in the city of Gilan-e-Gharb.
It is unclear for what purpose the structure may have been used but further studies and excavations are reportedly on the way
