Cutty Sark refit 'damaging', says The Victorian Society

The restoration of the Cutty Sark has been described as "damaging" by a national heritage group.
The criticism was made as the famous Greenwich clipper was awarded the Carbuncle Cup by a building design website.

Cutty Sark in Greenwich has restored masts raised

The masts on the Cutty Sark are being raised for the first time since the fire which gutted the famous ship in south-east London in 2007.
A crane has put the foremast in place on the 19th Century tea clipper in Greenwich, while two other masts are due to be added over the weekend.

The Cutty Sark was launched on 22 November 1869, and after Scott & Linton was liquidated she was completed by William Denny & Brothers for John Willis & Son.
