The Sirindhorn Museum, also known as the Phu Kum Khao Dinosaur Museum, in Sahatsakhan district of this northeastern province is hoping to lift Thailand to international acclaim with one of Asia's leading exhibitions of dinosaur fossils, and to encourage Thais to do more to preserve these important national treasures. The museum, which opened to the public in April, will be officially opened in December by HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. The Mineral Resources Department claims it has the most comprehensive collection of dinosaur fossils and information in the region.
