The space station's new robot, Dextre, is fitted out and ready for duty. In the third spacewalk of the latest shuttle mission, Endeavour astronauts Rick Linnehan and Robert Behnken fixed tools and cameras to the machine.
STS-123 is to be the twenty-fifth Space Shuttle mission to visit the International Space Station and is planned for 14 February 2008. It is expected to use Space Shuttle Endeavour. It will deliver Japan's Kibo Logistics Module and Dextre, Canada's dual-armed robotic manipulator to the International Space Station. STS-123's crew will be led by Dom Gorie with pilot Gregory Johnson and mission specialists Rick Linnehan, Robert Behnken, Michael Foreman, JAXA astronaut Takao Doi, and ESA astronaut Léopold Eyharts. NASA is may reschedule the launch to January 2008.
