An object that had the appearance of an asteroid, was discovered on October 13, 2007 by the Catalina Sky Survey, has subsequently revealed its cometary nature with follow-up observations carried out by J Young at Table Mountain. The preliminary orbital elements of the comet C/2007 T6 (Catalina) indicate a perihelion passage on August 24, 2007 at a distance of 2.3 AU from the Sun.
