A magnitude 15.4 supernova, 2007pl, was discovered on the 5th November, 2007, by the Chilean Automatic Supernova Search program, in the spiral  galaxy ESO 205-G18, in the Pictor constellation.
The supernova is located 0".9 east and 0".1 south of centre of the galaxy.

Position(2000): R.A. = 06h05m10s.80, Dec. = -49°17'59".06

As yet the type is unknown
