The comet P/2000 B3 (LINEAR) was found by L Buzzi and F Luppi on November 27, 2007 on CCD images taken with the 600mm f/4.64 telescope at the Varene Observatory (Italy). The orbital elements of comet P/2007 W2 (LINEAR) indicate a perihelion passage on February 26, 2008 at a distance of 1.7 AU from the Sun, and a 8 years period.
The comet P/2000 B3 (LINEAR) had been discovered as an asteroid on January 27, 2000 by the LINEAR monitoring telescope, and had revealed its cometary nature when confirmation observations of the object were carried out on February 01 by P. Kusnirak (Ondrejov, 0.65-m f/3.6) and by F Zoltowski (Edgewood, Nm, 0.3-m f/3.3). The comet P/2000 B3 had last been observed in May 2000.
