Got to see this one a few nights ago before Christmas and since then it has been cloudy and a bit of rain, looked at it through my 20X60 Binoculars and it looked like a small Nebulous white ball whithout any kind of tail although stronger equipment may show one present so I will try and set up my 20X100 Big mounted Binoculars to have a look at it if we get some clear night skies before the end of 2007-from reports it should be at its best in early January 2008 so I will be having a look then as well.

Comet 8P/Tuttle is approaching its maximum brightness as it crosses Cassiopeia during this week, and will become bright enough to see with the naked eye from a dark site. The comet will appear as a round, diffused greenish white glow in a pair of binoculars. During January, the comet will rapidly move southwards through Eridanus by the end of the month.
Comet 8P/Tuttle, is a periodic comet that reappears in the inner solar system every 13.6 years. On January 2, 2008 it will pass Earth at a distance of only 0.25 AU.
