The dazzling lights have forced an astronomy laboratory in Shanghai, to relocate to escape light pollution that has made it difficult to scan the night sky.
The Optical Astronomy Laboratory of Shanghai Observatory now plans to shift to the neighbouring Zhejiang province to establish China's first night sky protected area in Tianhuangping, Anji city, the state media reported.
