The Japanese H-IIA Launch Vehicle No. 17 (H-IIA F17) will launch the Akatsuki spacecraft to Venus at 2158:22 GMT, 20th May, 2010.

The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency decided Tuesday to postpone the launch of its new planetary probe Akatsuki, which will travel to Venus to examine its climate, due to bad weather conditions, it said.
Akatsuki was scheduled to lift off at 6:44 a.m. Tuesday from Tanegashima Space Centre in Kagoshima Prefecture.

JAXA have decided to carry out the launch at 6:58:22 a.m. on May 21, 2010 (Japan Standard Time, JST) because the weather is expected to recover in that timeframe.

The Japanese space agency is about to launch a mission to Venus to study the planet's weather and to hunt for signs of lightning and active volcanoes.
The Akatsuki probe will leave Earth atop an H-IIA rocket from the Tanegashima base at 2144 GMT.
