A 1960s-era custom-built telescope and dome donated by the Lanphier family to a local astronomy group have been transplanted and revitalised into a new observatory. The C.H. Lanphier Observatory named for the late Charles Chick Lanphier III, a Springfield business and civic leader who had the telescope built will be dedicated Saturday.
