Firefox 3 alpha build 5 has been officially released. The new alpha build, which is codenamed Gran Paradiso, features early components of the revamped Places system, a cohesive storage framework that will unify bookmark and history storage. An earlier prototype of the Places system was tested in early Firefox 2 alpha (Bon Echo) builds but was removed because it couldn't be completed within the Firefox 2 release timeframe. Bookmarks on Places now enabled for Firefox 3 alpha 5 The Firefox Places team has been hard at work to get the bookmarks portion of Places in shape for it to go out with Firefox 3 Alpha 5 scheduled later this month. And we are excited to let you all know that last week we enabled the Places implementation of bookmarks on the trunk. Although there is still much to be done, this is an important milestone for us. Fullerscreen is a Firefox extension that gives Web pages in Firefox the full space on your monitor. This extension enhances the Full Screen mode into a really full screen mode, hiding the remaining toolbars and statusbar and making them visible again when the mouse pointer hits an edge of the screen.
