Comet P/2008 U1 (McMillan) was discovered by R.S. McMillan (LPL/Spacewatch II, University of Arizona) on the 18th October, 2008.
The preliminary orbital elements of the comet indicate a perihelion passage  on the 12th May 12, 2008 at a distance of 2.523942 AU from the Sun, and a 8.13 year period.
