8 asteroids in the universe were titled with the Azerbaijani names, director of Tusi Astrophysics Observatory of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences Ayyub Guliyev told APA.

Soviet-era baritone Muslim Magomayev, who died after a long illness at the age of 66 on Saturday, was buried on Wednesday in Baku, the capital of his native Azerbaijan.
A  minor planet in the Solar System's asteroid belt was named 4980 Magomaev in 1997.
