Lake County law enforcement, fire and medical crews launched a large-scale search Thursday after hearing two individual accounts of a falling ultra-light airplane, but never found a crash site, Madison Township police Sgt. Rick Barson said.
A suspected meteor created some commotion Thursday afternoon when witnesses mistook it for an ultralight plane crashing in Madison Township. Three helicopters, several police and fire agencies and the Ohio Highway Patrol spent about four hours looking for the crash site along Route 20 until they suspended the search.
