The SNP wants Scotland to be home to the UK's first commercial spaceport. Virgin Galactic has already identified RAF Lossiemouth in Moray as a potential launch site, and Angus Robertson, the local MP and the SNP's Westminster leader, is backing the idea.
SNP Westminster leader and Moray MP, Angus Robertson, is set to meet with UK Science and Innovation Minister, Lord Drayson, over groundbreaking proposals for commercial spaceflight from Scotland. Virgin Galactic have identified RAF Lossiemouth, in Mr Robertson's Moray constituency, as a potential base for the UK's first commercial spaceflight enterprise, and the SNP MP is working to bring together the local community, government and enterprises agencies behind the proposals.
