A type Ia magnitude 16.5 supernova, 2009D, was discovered by  LOSS on the 2nd January, 2009, in the galaxy MCG -03-10-52 in the constellation Eridanus.   
The supernova is located 26' West and 31' North from the center of the galaxy.

Position(2000): RA =03 54 22.83, Dec = -19 10 54.2
