A type IIb magnitude 17.8 supernova, 2009C, was discovered by  LOSS on the 2nd January, 2009, in the galaxy UGC 12433 in the constellation Andromeda.   
The supernova is located 11' West and 11' North from the center of the galaxy.

Position(2000): RA =23 13 42.84, Dec = +49 40 47.2
