A strong magnitude 6.2 earthquake occurred at 19:21:38 (UTC) on Thursday, January 08, 2009, in the Costa Rica region, 35 km  NW  from San Jose, Costa Rica, at a depth of 28 km.

Location 10.220°N, 84.280°W
