Comet P/2001 CV8 = 2009 D1 (LINEAR) Periodic comet P/2001 CV8 (LINEAR) was recovered by Jim V. Scotti (Spacewatch II) on the 19th February, 2009. The comet P/2001 CV8 (LINEAR) was discovered by LINEAR on the 1st February, 2001 and had received the designation of asteroid 2001 CV8, before the cometary nature was discovered by additional observations. The orbital elements of comet P/2009 D1 (LINEAR) indicate a perihelion passage on the 10th October, 2008, at a distance of 2.16 AU from the Sun, and a 7.64 year orbital period.
