A long-period comet, C/2009 G1 (SWAN), was discovered by Rob Matson (SWAN), SOHO on the 6th April, 2009.
Preliminary observations indicate that the perihelion distance is 0.6 AU

2009 March 29: R.A. = 23 59.2, Dec. = +54 55, V = 13.5
2009 April. 06: R.A. = 23 58 58.6, Dec. = +54 54 20, V = 13.5
2009 April. 07: R.A. = 00 07 07.1, Dec. = +55 13 18, V = 13.5
